The music's loosely inspired by the Baroque masters....
That's the easy bit, the lyrics are about lots of things, broadly speaking its the 'natural' individual vs the 'rational' individual (the latter being a long-popular, though probably erroneous, version of the economics idea of one unit of 'the economy') - so an exploration of what binds/separates evolutionary humanity vs economic humanity. I've been reading, as a break from the histories, 'Doughnut Economics' by Kate Raworth, wherein some of the influence for this song lies.
